Bill Brandt comparison

My image on the left has been inspired by Brandt, i have used a black and white filter with a lot of dark contrast i have also used a lot of light as well when editing my picture. I used a shallow depth of field which is a close up shot with a high angle.

When editing this picture i wanted to focus more on the ring as it is the focal point. The ring has more detail on it as i have been experimenting with the contrast to make it stand out more. Also when i was playing with the contrast i used a shadow technique around the hand to outline it more and make it look sharp.

Brandt's work on the right has also used a black and white filter to bring out various details. We can also tell that Brandt has used a high contrast on the finger tips to bring the finger tips and the nails itself out more and then Brandt had a very light background which once again make the finger tips the focal point.

In comparison i have used the same technique as Brandt with a high contrast and using a body part and having a main focal point. We both have also used a close up shot to gather more details, both of our pictures are also very sharp and outline the finger/finger tips.
